This is one of my new favorite asparagus and ham appetizer for special occasions and holiday dinners. I have used bacon and prosciutto before, they are ok. Now, this version with jamón serrano is bliss in a spear.

So simple yet elegant recipe! Enjoy.

  • 12 asparagus spears
  • 12 slices serrano ham
  • olive oil
  • salt + black pepper, to taste
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Drizzle asparagus spears with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. Wrap each asparagus spear with a slice of ham.
  4. Place wrapped spears in a single layer in a baking sheet.
  5. Roast for 10 minutes.

    These look really good, my hubby would love this. I haven’t had asparagus in a long time. Not sure if it’s in season right now. Most of our asparagus is not locally grown and we don’t always have the best selection.
