Lending a painting hand with Mazda 5 Grand Touring

I have always said to my husband that I like to paint walls. He’s never taken me seriously… until the perfect opportunity came along.

One rainy morning, we got a phone call. It was my suegra (mom-in-law) letting us know that she had a moving date. In that conversation she told us of the mile long to-do list to do a home makeover.

My husband glanced at me and before you knew it, I glanced back with that “let’s do this” look. In less than 10 minutes, we had planned our trip to Orlando: the #Ilovemysuegra trip.

One thing that worried us was that my mom-in-law drives a compact car. How we were supposed to tackle that to-do list on a compact car? The thought of having to go to the home improvement store multiple times a day was just daunting.

First day was all about deciding what projects to dive into. I made my offer to paint which they hopeful but reluctantly accepted for just the living room at first. Then we prepared the shopping list and picked what stores to visit.

Thank goodness for our partnership with Mazda and DriveSTI. The Mazda5 Grand Touring 2015 saved the day(s)!

Right off the bat, having captain chairs on the second row made all of us happy! My father-in-law has knee problems and sitting a little higher made the trips to the store and coffee shop better. It didn’t matter if he was on the passenger seat or sitting on the second row, it was easy for him to get on and off.

Being able to fold down the third row seats made everything easy. Like loading vertical blinds to the this Grand Touring, ceiling fans or just going grocery shopping. This Mazda 5 proved to be very spacious! I can imagine just loading all of our gear to go to the beach or the park with no problems listening to some 80s music on the Sirius XM satellite radio.

¡Manos a la obra!

When we got in, I only had one mission in my mind: cross off as many things as we could from their to-do list. They had asked me to paint their living room walls but I offered to paint their ceiling as well. It would make the area so much brighter and homey.

Since my suegra still works I wanted to do more to helped them save money on painters. So I offered to paint their bedroom and bath area after I was done in the living room. They jumped at the opportunity.

In just a few days, we were able to renovate so many things. You could say, we went to town! From giving a modern look to the ceiling fans to painting the whole ceiling and their bedroom, living room and dining room, the house started to really feel like home! And that’s what we wanted to gift them that feeling!

One thing we loved was the Mazda 5 mpg: 21 miles in city driving! It was so smooth and quiet inside! This is one of my pet peeves because in other minivans you just have to keep repeating yourself because of the noise. The Mazda 5 was perfect to keep our conversations going. It also had air conditioner controls for us on the second row which proved to be a great feature.

At the end of our trip, we were exhausted but with a heart full of satisfaction that we did them right. They were so amazed of how great everything looked! We were all sad when we had to say goodbye to the Mazda 5 Grand Touring 2015.

Of course, the peace of mind that the Mazda 5 Grand Touring gave us was, well, priceless!

Wow, that has a lot more cargo space than I expected it to have. Definitely a great car to help you out with your renovations projects!

Loved how it all turned out. Never heard of this Mazda, but love that even though it’s smaller it helped you get some big projects done.
