Looking forward to 2015
That’s my word for 2015. I do a bunch of things during the year. Some things moved the business forward, life forward and others, well let’s just say that were pure research. Yeah, research.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.
– Albert Einstein, maybe?
That’s one of the hubs favorite quotes. Who cares that there’s no evidence that Albert Einstein said it. Still a great quote!
Focus, Yoly, focus. Let me get back to this post, darn squirrel.
Why I’m taking that quote to heart? Aside the insanity part, not interested in that, I’m tired of my routine and doing the same things over and over again. I’m craving different results.
Exhibit A: Last year I jotted down 12 goals, then I got stuck in I-don’t-think-I-can-do-this-ville. Almost nothing in that list got done.
Exhibit B: I had to buy a larger size pair of jeans to go out on a date night. What a bummer!
There’s no argument that it’s time to do things a little different. Shake routines off. I want to make progress in the areas of self-care, family life and business.
So, what goal setting I tackled first?
Business goals, check. Used my I serve, I deserve: Mapping a Stellar 2015 action-book to map what I want to do in 2015. It’s pretty darn good if I say so myself!
Now, while I’m determined to do more good deeds in 2015, I also know that more self-care is in order if I want to be of service. Thus, I’m kicking off the year — just like a few million Americans, with exercise in mind. Sure, I had a little help with that one though.
The hubs gave me what I hope turns out to be a great Xmas gift: sessions with a personal trainer. At first, I was furious about what an insensitive gift it was. Right now, I’m feeling more hopeful that this will shake things off and this is the kick in the butt I need to get back to healthy.
When all is said and done, it will boil down to being more intentional with my time, my actions and my heart.
What about you? Do you set goals? Resolutions? What’s one thing you want to do in 2015?
Let’s do this.0
