A year ago, running, let alone running a half marathon was a very distant dream, not even on my bucket list. Fast forward six months, I have run a few 5Ks, a 10K and two half marathons. And it all started at the young age of 43! Yes, you read that right.
Now, I’m not your typical let’s run for the fun of it. I run because it’s a privilege to be healthy enough to put a foot in front of the other sometimes for hours on end. My sister has been the catalyst with her contagious positive outlook on life and her determination to keep running for as long as her MS let her.
Also, let’s be real, we like the bling! Because if I’m going to do this, I want a medal for my efforts (and race entry.) She’s thrown the biggest dare yet: complete a marathon. With 19 weeks to get ready for Vegas, here I am, accepting the challenge.
So here’s to wearing bright and cheerful leggins, loud color running shoes and to more importantly crushing challenges!0
