Healthy Living = My body is my temple

Fitness Friday: 4 week progress!

week4-resultsFour weeks ago, I promised myself that I would work towards reclaiming my healthy body. It has not been easy but it’s finally clicking in my brain that we are ready to do this.

The scale is not moving as fast as I would like to, but I’ll take it. Of course, it does help when the hubs keeps telling you, “You lost weight, looking good!” Ah, he knows I need to keep hearing this and him cheering me on.

4 weeks results:

Lost 1/2 inch at the waist and 1 inch at the hips. I’m pretty happy with that! What I love the most, my tummy is not sticking out as much anymore 😉

You can see the before pictures on this post.

Lessons this week:

  • Do not leave exercise for later. It never works. You’ll get too busy, too distracted, too tired or simply forget all about it and then when you remember you are laying in bed already (true story).
  • Got to meal plan for the week or you’ll go to the dark side and make fast food choices that you know will blow your daily calorie budget.
  • No matter how crappy, how hard if feels at the moment, how you feel the workout is going to kill you, finish it! It’s good to listen to your body but don’t listen to your mind this time. Savoring the taste of accomplishment after a training session is way better than thinking what if.
  • Switch from calling a workout session to a training session. I feel like the word workout makes me think of it like it’s a chore… not what I want. Calling it a training session makes me feel like an athlete. There’s purpose on session!

Good thought process on calling it training vs. workout! It can all be a mental things at times and sometimes simple word changes can make all the difference. Keep up the good work – slow and steady wins this race. Cheers.

Thank you Diatta. My mind still playing games with me so changing the word makes sense to me 🙂
