If a year ago you would have told me that to this date I would have run not one, but two half marathons, I would have laughed so hard. I’m grateful that my sister loves running and got really patient with me and was my cheerleader all along. It’s such a pleasure to be able to run with her!
I have promised her that I’ll keep running in 2016. One of the changes I’ve made for the New Year is to have a balanced breakfast every day. I used to have just a cup of coffee and go. That’s no bueno for my goal of running faster. So, I want to be intentional with what I eat… I want to be faster en la brea! (on the road)
My plan is to have a balanced meal along with a glass of V8 V-Fusion® Strawberry Banana (it’s my favorite flavor although Carrot Mango is delicious too). I’m picky when it comes to vegetables so knowing that I’m drinking 100% juice that provides the nutrition of vegetables blended with just the right amount of fruit juice for a light, sweet taste… score!
Plus, plus, it’s like having a 1 full serving of fruit and 1 full serving of vegetables for every 8 ounces. Yeah, I’ll drink my veggies! You’re welcome.

I went to Walmart to fill my pantry with nutritious foods and to get my juice on.
Since, making my promise to run more this year, my goal has everything to do with beating my best half marathon time. I want to be fast! Your goal can be: walk more, practice yoga, start meditating or just being more active for a few minutes. What’s important is to pick a goal!
How the dicho goes? Out of sight, out of mind…Well, I don’t want to forget about my goal. o have the goal “present”, I’ll show you how I made a hearty bilingual goal board!
Let’s build a hearty goal board! For this goal board you’ll need:
- 2-3 sets of poster board letters
- stickers that you like!
- 1 poster board
- glue stick
To make our heart goal board,we’ll do a heart shape with words that motivate us to keep working towards our self-care goal.
The most important word is the middle one or the action. Pick one that’s at least eight letters, preferably nine letters. In my case, I’m using corriendo, that’s running in Spanish.

With your planner sheet filled out, it’s time to set the letters in the poster board. After you have letters set, it’s time to get gluing.
