    Training Log: 4/16 to 4/22

    This was the first official week of training for the Wineglass Half Marathon in Corning, NY. This week my training calls for intervals of running for 1 minute and walking for 1  minutes and repeat several times. The plan called for just 30 minutes for each run but I really wanted to hit 2 miles every time. 4/16 – 2 miles 16:36 AP – I usually go out while listening to business podcasts.     Learning how to run

    I ran a half mile and almost died. OK, “almost died” is a gigantic exaggeration but at the end of that run it felt like I was really out of breath. I had to lay down on my sidewalk until I felt “normal” again. In my thirties I was gong-ho fitness addict. I looked good! I felt even better. I put being fit first. I even went to fitness bootcamps across the country to exercise with friends. Ah, good times! Good times indeed. Now in my forties I have let work and other excuses run my routine.
