Baby Kale Power Smoothie

This smoothie will pack a protein punch for sure. Perfect as a meal replacement while enjoying a naturally sweet baby kale smoothie.

After what it felt like a gorgeous spring day yesterday, we are back to our “normal” snowy day. Days like these suck my desire to be in the kitchen. That’s when this baby kale power smoothie came to the rescue!

A few weeks back while visiting my favorite year round farm market, I saw they were selling organic baby kale. It definitely caught my attention. It made me think of what flavors could we use to make green smoothies. I already make smoothies as a post workout drink so making one as a meal replacement was really enticing. Not having to cook lunch too is a perk I want without sacrificing taste.

Then, Savvy was invited to the Nutrilite Health event, you can check out another tasty green smoothie recipe plus my recap here. There I tried a tropical smoothie that included our new favorite green veggie for the smoothies. The make this smoothie satisfying and to really pack a punch, I’m adding protein powder. Since we got samples at the event, this smoothie includes BodyKey’s new strawberry flavor. You can use your preferred protein powder instead.

Baby Kale Power Smoothie

  • 2 cups of organic baby kale
  • 1 cup riped mango flesh
  • 1 medium banana
  • 1 scoop strawberry flavored protein powder (I used BodyKey)
  • 8 oz water
  1. Place all the ingredients in the blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. If needed, sweeten the smoothie with stevia or agave. For my taste, 1 tsp sweeten the smoothie perfectly but feel free to use more or less accordingly.

    My family and I consume fresh fruit and green smoothies every day! Love your recipe, amiga! I recently started putting a protein powder (Designs for Health) on my smoothie for more nutrition.

    This smoothie looks absolutely delicious! I love smoothies. I make one everyday. Never liked Kale until recently and it’s SO good inside a smoothie! I will be trying this for sure 🙂 I just pinned. Stopping in from Cook It, Craft It, Share It 🙂
