5 Wondrous Tips I Wish They Told Me About Running

5 Wondous tips I wish they told me before starting running.

Can believe it’s been about three and a half months since picking up the seemingly innocent hobby of running. Sure I need to thank my sister for pushing me of the led, I mean, convincing us (yes, we are 5 sisters and now we are all runners) to run.

5 Wondrous Tips I Wish They Told Me About Running

1. It was not a love at first sight affair like my marriage BUT it awaken my competitive spirit. After making a few runs and using apps to track performance it’s fun to see how time is shaved off each run, even it it’s just a second!

2. The sense of accomplishment is real! Once you have met the goal of the day that being time or distance there’s no better feeling that feeling accomplished. You will be surprised of what you can do when you put your positive mindset to work.

3. Have a support system. Running, at least for me is a solo thing, more like “me” time. Having my sisters and my husband on my corner ready to cheer or to offer a little “pick me up” helps to stay motivated. Since we are all running in the family we have a secret Facebook group where we detail each run and check on each other. It’s powerful!

4. Instagram rocks for #runners. You want to feel inspired, help inspire others or simply enjoying to be part of the community check out Instagram. I love the huge sense of community around this hobby of ours! The more popular hashtags are:

#run #runner #running #runtoinspire #furtherfasterstronger #seenonmyrun #runchat #runhappy #instagood #time2run #instafit #happyrunner #instarunner #instarun #workouttime

5. If you run outdoors, you’ll become a fan of weather apps. Nowadays,I plan the night before my next day looking at when it will be the warmest time of the day (still cold here) or if it needs to be a treadmill kind of day if it will be running.

I love this new hobby that’s running and can’t wait to keep sharing the journey!

Congrats. I’ve seen your progress and it’s very inspiring. I’ve been thinking of trying it but I’m afraid that with my back problems I will not be able to. I started jogged for almost 5 minutes last week, not much, but it felt great. I guess I’ll just have to take baby steps and see how it goes. Keep it up!
